There are two reasons I created The Wedding Card… 1. Purchases should be made locally and
2. Brides should not have to pay for their weddings for the next ten years. I don't think the best way
to save is to go to the cheapest places in town. "You get what you pay for…"
About The Wedding Guru: Katie moved to West Michigan in 2002 to attend Culinary
school. As assistant manager at Via Maria in Holland, she launched their off-site
catering program. She managed DeBoer Café and Bakery for three years and
created their cake shop, specializing in unique wedding cakes. In October 2008, Katie
and award-winning cake designer Renae Briggs opened "Second Floor Bakery",
where they create "cakes…from funky to formal". Katie has been married for four years
and is looking forward to children…someday. For now, her Cocker Spaniel, Bailey is her baby.
